Yindran Puspanathan | Co-President

Yindran is a senior at Stern majoring in Finance and Accounting and minoring in Social Entrepreneurship.  He loves everything about soccer except Manchester United. Working hard and playing hard has always been his way of life, although playing hard might have tipped the scale a few times.



PDS in Yindran's words: "I love that it's a non-major specific club because it allows members to get an in-depth view of all the different career opportunities out there. The focus on soft skills as part of professional development carries a lot of weight in the business world where more often than not, these skills come in more handy than technical ones."



Favorite food: Italian; pizza and pasta



Wants to travel to: Venice.  It's one of the most beautiful and unique places in the world.



On weekends, you will usually find me: At Washington Square Park, Redhead, or Professor Thom's



Favorite hobbies: Soccer, camping, cooking





Brittany Chen​ | Co-President

Shirley Yu | Internal Vice President

Shirley is currently a junior attending her dream school in her dream city.  She is following an unconventional path of passion, hedonism, and allure into the world of marketing / advertising / PR, but is also interested in sales and consulting. Shirley loves meeting new people and traveling, but also taking lazy days in her pajamas.



PDS in Shirley's words: "PDS is incredibly welcoming and open minded, and we provide presentations, workshops, and opportunities that are beneficial not only in whatever major you are interested in, but in lifelong development."



Favorite food: Sushi



Wants to travel to: Seoul, Korea.  Because of the culture, the business, and the people.



On weekends, you will usually find me: At yoga class, at a photo shoot (I have a secret hope of becoming a men's couture photographer), or at a new restaurant!



Favorite Hobbies: Poker, piano, reading, yoga, fashion, makeup, painting

Mahdi Raza | Internal Vice President

Jinna Wang | Treasurer

Jinna was originally born in Harbin, China but grew up on Long Island where she became a fan of the sun, the beach, and hip-hop music. She loves dancing, Jeopardy-style trivia, and meeting new people. So if you see her on the street, be sure to say hello!  Jinna is studying Finance and Accounting at Stern, with a minor in Psychology.

PDS in Jinna's words: "After meeting the charismatic ex-president of PDS at a Stressbuster event her freshman year, I joined PDS to become more involved in the Stern community. I have met amazing, driven people through PDS and look forward to working with them this upcoming year."



Favorite food: Wings



Wants to travel to: India.  The culture is so vibrant and absolutely fascinating!



On weekends,  you will usually find me: Exploring the food scene in NYC with a few good friends.

Favorite Hobbies: Dancing

Katie Zhang | External Vice President

Katie is a junior who is definitely studying Finance and Economics and contemplating a Psych minor.  She recently spent a semester abroad in Shanghai.  For anyone thinking about studying abroad, she definitely recommends it!  Katie loves movies and books, so if you have any recommendations, let her know!



PDS in Katie's words: "I came into Stern not really knowing what I wanted to do.  I joined PDS because it offered something unique --the opportunity to experience and learn about a spectrum of fields."



Favorite food: Sushi.  But only because that's what she's craving at the moment.



Wants to travel to: Tokyo, Japan.  I've always wanted to go!



On weekends, you will usually find me: SLEEPING!  You can never really get enough....



Favorite Hobby: Doodling

Helen Zhou | External Vice President

Helen is currently a junior studying Finance and Accounting (B.S./M.S.), and minoring in Psychology.  She enjoys traveling, cooking, going to the beach, and Hot Cheetos.  



PDS in Helen's words: "PDS provided opportunities to meet many professionals and learn about various career paths early on. It's a great organization to develop yourself professionally and meet amazing people!"



Favorite food: Macarons!



Wants to travel to: New Zealand.  I hear it's cool.

Favorite Hobby: Snowboarding

Jessica Yang | Marketing Chair

Jessica is a sophomore at Stern majoring in Finance and minoring in Spanish.  She spent this past summer in Beijing and is super excited about studying abroad in Madrid next semester!  In her spare time, Jessica likes to play piano, try out different restaurants in the city, and watch Broadway shows (or sing along to recordings if she's on a tight budget).

PDS in Jessica's words: "When I first joined PDS, Katie Zhang, our current External Vice President, told me, 'Welcome to the PDS family!'  I didn't think much of it then, but I realize now that PDS really is like a family.  It definitely helps you with developing your career and professional skills, but the members are always available to chat about anything from card games to the meaning of life!"



Favorite foods: Pad Thai and Spanish tapas!



Wants to travel to: France.  The French language is just beautiful, and from what I hear, so is the country.



Tell me a joke: A shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.

Aditya Deshmukh | Social Chair

Aileen is a sophomore majoring in Finance and minoring in Social Entrepreneurship. She is currently studying abroad in Shanghai for the Fall 2012 semester and working as a Resident Assistant at NYU Shanghai. Aileen is interested in social impact and its intersection with business and education and has recently been an Ambassador for Ashoka's Youth Venture New York.

 

PDS in Aileen's words: "I joined PDS as a freshman representative and love how friendly everyone in PDS is. The e-board is absolutely awesome and I can't wait to meet all the new members!"



Favorite foods: Pad Thai, sushi, cupcakes, macarons



Wants to travel to: Paris, because I studied French in high school and because I love French cafes!



On weekends, you will usually find me: Hanging out with friends and taking color-accented pictures or pictures of food.

Favorite Hobby: Eating!

Michael is a sophomore studying ​Finance and Accounting.  He is a big fan of movies, and tries to watch as many as he can. He played bassoon in high school, and like to go to concerts and plays in his free time. He is always down to try new things and meet new people.



PDS in Michael's words: "The upperclassmen are always willing to share their experiences with the underclassmen. Also, I was able to grow and mature as an inspiring businessman through the professional events, corporate panels, and social events."



Favorite food: Ice cream



Wants to travel to: Venice.  I want to ride a gondola and eat at all the fancy restaurants.



On weekends, you will usually find me: Sleeping, or watching movies and hanging out with friends



Favorite Hobbies: Going to shows, plays, movies, and concerts

John is a senior studying Finance and Economics.  He loves to play sports and enjoys watching fun TV shows.

David ​is a senior majoring in Finance and CPA Accounting and minoring in Public Policy.  He likes to read the newspaper, play basketball, and travel, and is interested in learning more about politics and religion.  



PDS in David's words: "If you got that itching question whether that regards school work to professional work or just plain life, the PDS E-board is more than willing to put in their two cents. You'll receive a wide range of advice from a very diverse group of people with multiple career paths. Do everything you can to learn the different stories each individual has to offer; this can only help you."



Favorite food: Taco Bell.  :D



Wants to travel to: Antarctica, just so I can?  Or into the jungles of the Congo experiencing near death moments while everyone else is stuck in their cubicles.



On weekends, you will usually find me: At one point, all day everyday K-Town from bar hopping to singing Karaoke. Now, probably hopping around the city finding that obscure restaurant. Hopefully not in Stern?

Favorite Hobbies: Lots and lots of reading.

Jonathan, or Jon, is a senior majoring in Finance and International Business with a minor in Media, Culture, and Communication. He has spent the past three and a half years at J.P. Morgan, most recently doing Investment Banking in the Real Estate & Lodging group. He enjoys brunch, handball, gadgets, and spending quality time with loved ones.

PDS in Jon's words: "I love the long-lasting friendships it creates, as well as the network of honest and genuine alumni it provides."



Favorite food: Mashed potatoes



Wants to travel to:  Australia, so I can visit my girlfriend Helen in New Zealand - she and I could hit two countries in one trip.



Tell me a joke: Two Asians walk into a bar. Two weeks later, they own it.

Favorite Hobbies: Sleep.

Brittany is a senior studying Finance and Marketing and minoring in the Business of Entertainment, Media, & Technology.  She is Cali girl at heart who ventured into New York City searching for a big change. Now, she's a little addicted to New York City and she can't get myself to go home! Also addicted to: anything sweet, french fries + ketchup, fresh squeezed OJ, diners, Grey's Anatomy, Say Yes to the Dress, Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.



PDS in Brittany's words: "Our e-board is really just comprised of a small gang of friends wanting to make a difference at the school that helped us become who we are today. Find us anywhere, ask us anything. We'll tell you the honest answer, and then we'll take you out to lunch! We're fun. And nice. Promise."



Favorite food: French fries + ketchup



Wants to travel to: Cerritos, CA. Haven't seen my family and friends in far too long!



Tell me a joke: I couldn't make you laugh if I tried. If you want to laugh, watch Wedding Crashers.



Favorite Hobby: Trying new things that I thought I'd hate. And then getting proven wrong.

Mahdi is a junior studying Economics and Finance.  He is a native New Yorker, and he enjoys playing sports, eating different types of food, and travelling.



PDS in Mahdi's words: "I started off with PDS in my freshman year. The current seniors and the past couple of years of PDS leaders really were a huge influence and inspired me to become involved with the club and its mission. It's been a tremendous experience since then."



Favorite food: Chinese



Wants to travel to: Barcelona; does Barca rise to reclaim its throne from Real Madrid?



Tell me a joke: The most successful investor was Noah. He floated stock, while everything around him went into liquidation.



Favorite Hobby: Board Games

Ga Young is a junior studying Finance and Accounting and minoring in Math.  She's originally from Seoul, South Korea, but she grew up in Atlanta, GA and went to boarding school in Connecticut. Last semester, she studied abroad in Shanghai. Ga Young like to explore, try new things, and meet new people.



PDS in Ga Young's words: "I love PDS because it brings together students who are concentrating on different majors and helps them grow professionally."



Favorite food: Dessert!



Wants to travel to: Vietnam, to see if they actually eat pho every day.  (I love pho).

Favorite Hobby: Watching volleyball games

Aditya is going to be a sophomore this fall, majoring in Finance and Economics with a minor in Computer Science and Math.  Outside of PDS, he is involved in Delta Sigma Pi and is in the process of creating his out college based education lobby.  His hobbies include basketball, cooking, and photography.  



PDS in Aditya's words: "I joined because I tagged along with one of my friends and after attending a few events, I realized that it was not only a place to meet more people, but a great way for underclassmen to learn about their different career options."



Favorite food: Anything Mexican



Wants to travel to: Spain, it's been the one country that I have always made plans for, but never actually been able to see.



On weekends, you will usually find me: Playing basketball, hanging out with friends, trying new restaurants.



Favorite Hobby: Watching the NBA

 

Huan is a senior majoring in Finance and Economics. He loves playing and watching basketball. He once figured out the meaning of life but then forgot it before he was able to write it down.



PDS in Huan's words: "When I had my resume ripped apart by a PDS upperclassman, I knew this club was for me."
